Annual Awards Dinner
Our Awards Dinner this year will
be at Scott's Seafood Restaurant in No host bar will be starting at
5pm with dinner at 5:30 pm. The restaurant is on the water and
right off Highway 880. You can go to

information. The dinners will be $40 per person and you may choose
from: Wild Mushroom Chicken Piccata or Wild Mushroom Ravioli. The dinner includes a salad and

Saint Bernard of the Pacific Coast Presents An Educational Event and Cardio Clinic April 30 and May 1, 2010 Red Lion Inn, Sacramento, California
Dr. Richard Kienle Speaker and Veterinarian
Dr. Richard Kienle is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Medicine (Cardiology). He earned his DVM at Texas A&M and completed his residency in cardiology at UC Davis. Dr. Kienle practices at Bay Area Veterinary Specialists in San Leandro and Mission Valley Veterinary Cardiology in Gilroy.
Dr. Kienle's talk will cover the structure and function of the heart. He will then discuss those heart diseases most commonly seen in the St. Bernard dog. This discussion will cover the disease process in the heart, the symptoms observed in the dog, the diagnostics that are required to accurately diagnose the disease, the treatments available, and the long-term prognosis. This education event will last approximately 90 minutes. The seminar will commence 45 minutes after completions of judging at the SBCPC specialty.
Dr. Kienle will be conducting ultrasounds and auscultations by appointment on Saturday May 1, 2010 at the hotel. Please contact Lovey Olbrich h_olbrich@sbcglobal.net or at 510-531-2476 to schedule an appointment or for further information. Walk-ins will be accepted on a time-available basis.
An ultrasound examination does NOT require shaving. A water-soluble clear conducting gel, which can be easily washed off, and alcohol will be used in the chest region. Ultrasound appointments will take 20 minutes; Auscultations (listening by stethoscope) will require 10 minutes. The charge for ultrasound is $175 and for auscultation is $45. The St. Bernard Club of America will reimburse SBCA club members who agree to include their dogs’ results (anonymous submission) into the ARCH data base $50 for the ultrasound. ARCH submissions are free to SBCA members. Reimbursements are limited to two per SBCA member. Dues must be paid up at time of examination. Dr. Dr.
